Making the Curb Appeal of Your Dreams with These Tips

The number one reason to have great curb appeal is to immediately charm your potential buyers within seconds of their seeing your house; whether they are looking at the photo of your house or driving by the first time.
We all get use to our homes and may put off changing or fixing items or just don’t realize that a change could make such a dramatic difference. These tips will help you assess your curb appeal and make it outstanding.
Today’s market requires the Seller to be savvy about the look of their house and that includes making sure your front yard is photo perfect. Often it only takes a few changes and updates by the homeowner to ensure the house has that extra special curb appeal.
To ensure you have great curb appeal, talk with your Realtor and/or home staging consultant for more ideas. You want to be sure to have your house’s front view really pop. In many cases a small investment of a thousand dollars or less can add significant changes to make that front yard outstanding.
Replace the house numbers with much larger black numbers
Trim back bushes, severely if necessary, so they do not block the front door or front windows
Grass and edging should always look neat
Large bushes are better than small ones when placing them under the front windows – keep the height just under the bottom of the window and bushes should not be blocking even partially the view of the front door
Make the entry elegant by placing a brass door kick plate along the bottom of the door
Paint the front door a different color from the house color, either, red, black, yellow or blue
Add color with blooming plants in matching pots on each side of the front door
Be sure your house trim is the same color as the window trim to give a well-cared for look
Remove or cut down any trees or bushes that have few leaves and look like sticks, replace with grass
Eradicate all stains from walkway and driveway
